Sam Rothstein grew up in the school of hard knocks, but he has lead a charmed life and shows no scars form the experience.

Why? Because Sam's been a winner since he was a kid, pitching pennies, then quarters with the neighborhood guys. While others were scouring the city looking for soda bottles to get the "returns." Sam would grab a penny or two and then pitch until he won their "soda bottle money."

From that, Sam graduated to betting on or against the Yanks and the Giants, the World Series and the NBA. As he won, his reputation grew.

From the mid 1950's when he set out on his own while still a teenage, beating the local books in pool halls and gin joints all over Brooklyn through the 1960's and 70's when he became a Las Vegas legend that the Sports Books hated to see because he always beat them up.

Then, Sam turned into a pro handicapper, putting his expertise to work for the average working "joes" who couldn't have the time and energy and sources to win at football, basketball, racing and horses. Working from his Las Vegas headquarters, Sam, Sr., revolutionized sports gambling in the 1970's, winning head to head with the biggest and greatest names in linesmaking.

IN 1995, Sam turned control of KICK OFF SPORTS over to Sam, Jr., and retired to a life of leisure in the islands.

But, sun, sand, surf and broads is not the kind of action that a TRUE WINNER NEEDS. Like a caged lion, Sam Sr.'s been pacing the floor of his Caribbrean villa, plotting a comeback.
